Lovibond® CHECKITs® are a range of easy to use colorimetric test kits for analysis of water samples.

The CHECKIT® unit functions as both sample container and comparator in a compact unit so no test tubes are required.

Lovibond® tablet reagents are added to a measured sample of water in the unit and the resulting sample colour is then compared with the front panel to obtain the concentration of the parameter under test.

Ranges

The ranges mentioned in the table on the right can be extended up to the 10-fold value by dilution of the sample (with the exception of the pH determination).

Each kit is supplied in a compact, robust plastic box complete with sufficient Lovibond ® tablets reagents for an average of 30 tests, stirring rod, cleaning brush and full step by step instructions.

Lovibond® MINIKITs are a range of easy to use, inexpensive test kits for single parameter water analysis.

Most MINIKITs employ the titrimetric "tablet count" method, where tests are carried out by simply adding tablet reagents, one at a time, to a measured sample of water until a prescribed colour change takes place. The number of tablets used is then applied to a simple formula in order to calculate the concentration of the parameter under test.

The cyanuric acid and high range sulphate MINIKITs rely on a turbidity test as opposed to a colour change. The MINIKIT range also includes a hardness "yes / no" test where, after adding a sin-gle reagent tablet, the colour of the sample will indicate whether a certain level of hardness is exceeded or not.

Each kit is supplied in a compact plastic box complete with all equipment required to carry out the test, sufficient Lovibond® tablets reagents for an average of 40 tests and full step by step instructions.

Colour Discs

There are more than 400 different Lovibond® discs available for colorimetric analysis and for classification of specific products. Each disc contains guaranteed non fading glass standards. For each disc there is a detailed method for carrying out the colorimetric test, incorporating all technical and chemical information necessary.

Product specifications

The PCCHECKIT® photometer range provides excellent value for money for new photometer users, and features microprocessor technology to ensure rapid, reliable and accurate determination of the central hygiene parameters in the area of swimming pool water treatment, chlorine (free, combined, total) and pH.

If organic chlorine products are used (isocyanurates), the units can also measure cyanuric acid concentrations.

The determination of bromine is possible as well. A separate PCCHECKIT® range has been specially developed for analysis of the parameters used to calculate the Òwater balance systemÓ.

These units are suitable for measurement of chlorine and pH as well as total alkalinity and calcium hardness. These photometers have been designed with particular attention to the environmental conditions encountered in swimming pools. The keybord and display are splash-proof. The sample chamber (the most critical part of any photometer) is fully sealed, so no water can penetrate into the electronic components. Cleaning is simple.

The vial cover is used to eliminate the effects of ambient light. The PCCHECKIT® may be used as test equipment with software-based calibration adjustment facilities.

Kit contents

Each PCCHECKIT® photometer is provided in a synthetic carrying case, with a 9 volt powerpack battery, round vials with cover (adapter for 16 mm round vial, if necessary), tablet reagents for approx. 50 tests of each type, accessories, instruction manual and guarantee certificate.

Turbidity Meter PCCHECKIT®

The PCCHECKIT ® is designed as a compact, easy to use instrument to determine turbidity fast and accurate.

A light emitting diode (LED) is used as a light source with a photodetector positioned to detect light scattered by a sample at 90° to the incident beam.

The LED is characterised by maximum long-term stability and monochromatic light emission with minimum power input.

The sample chamber (the most critical part of any photometer) is fully sealed, so no water can penetrate into the electronic components.

The size of the sample chamber ensures easy cleaning of the light entry surfaces. The PCCHECKIT ® may be used as test equipment with software-based calibration adjustment facilities.

Battery operation makes the unit suitable for both mobile use and laboratory applications. The PCCHECKIT ® is supplied as a fully functional unit complete with accessories and calibration standards in a handy case.
